On Saturday, October 24, some familiar Sarasota faces will trade their day jobs for dancing shoes.

[Ballroom Blitz is Parkinson Place's inaugural signature fundraising gala](https://web.sarasotachamber.com/community-calendar/Details/the-ballroom-blitz-gala-2026-1705862?sourceTypeId=Hub), a Dancing-With-the-Stars-style evening that pairs local celebrity dancers with professional ballroom instructors. The couples compete for the mirrorball trophy, and the audience helps decide who takes it home. Every vote, ticket, and donation supports people and families in our community who are living with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

Liberty Savings Bank is proud to be a sponsor, and we hope you'll join us there.

## Why dance, and why Parkinson Place

[Parkinson Place's](https://parkinsonplace.org/) mission is to provide resources, therapies, education, and support to individuals and families navigating Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. According to the organization, it offers more than 85 free in-person and virtual programs every month, including specialized movement classes.

Dance is a big part of that work. Parkinson Place describes dance as playing a vital role in improving mobility, balance, confidence, and joy for its members. That's what makes Ballroom Blitz such a fitting fundraiser: the night celebrates the same thing that helps so many of the people Parkinson Place serves. It's a party with a purpose, and the purpose is right here in our community.

## Why Liberty Is Part Of It

Liberty Savings Bank has been a family-owned community bank in Sarasota and Manatee County for more than 30 years. Our tagline is "Our interest is in you," and we take that to mean more than what happens inside a branch. Being a community bank means knowing our neighbors and showing up for the local organizations that take care of them.

Parkinson Place does exactly that, offering its programs to members free of charge. Supporting its first signature gala is an easy decision for us.

As Danielle Bachar, Region Sales Manager at Liberty Savings Bank, put it: *"This is a fun way to support a great cause!"*

## How You Can Support Ballroom Blitz

There are three ways to get involved, and every one of them helps:

### Attend the event

Grab tickets, come out on October 24, and cheer on your favorite dancers.

### Donate to a celebrity performer.

Pick a dancer to support. Your donation backs both their run at the mirrorball trophy and Parkinson Place's programs.

### Become a sponsor

Local businesses can join Liberty in sponsoring the event. Contact Parkinson Place for sponsorship details.

## See You on the Dance Floor

Ballroom Blitz is a chance to have a great night out with your neighbors while helping an organization that makes a real difference for families across our area. We can't wait to see the costumes, the choreography, and the crowd.

We'll see you there on October 24.
