At Liberty Savings Bank, we believe in more than just banking—we believe in building strong, vibrant communities. One way we live out this belief is through our long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity in South Sarasota and Manatee County. It's a relationship that has grown over the years, built on shared values and a commitment to creating lasting change.

Shared Commitment to Community

For over a decade, we've had the privilege of supporting Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to providing affordable housing for families in need. Since 2011, Danielle, our Region Sales Manager and a Mortgage Loan Adviser, has been deeply involved in their mission. As the chairperson of Habitat’s Family Services Committee, she works alongside a team to review applications, interview candidates, and guide families through the homeownership journey. Seeing families achieve their dream of owning a home is incredibly rewarding, it's what community is all about.

Danielle’s passion for Habitat’s work reflects the heart of our involvement. It’s not just about lending a hand; it’s about getting to know the families, hearing their stories, and celebrating their milestones. It’s a privilege to be part of something that has such a tangible, positive impact.

Fundraisers That Bring People Together

Supporting Habitat for Humanity isn’t just about financial contributions; it’s also about creating opportunities for the community to come together. Each year, our team rolls up their sleeves to help organize Habitat’s biggest fundraising events. One highlight is the silent auction, where every dollar raised goes directly to building homes. We love seeing the generosity of our neighbors come to life during these events. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.

Our goal at these fundraisers is simple: to help Habitat fund the construction of at least one home each year. It’s amazing to watch how our community shows up, contributing not just to money but also their energy, enthusiasm, and hope for a brighter future.

Lauren’s Dedication to Habitat

Another shining star in our partnership with Habitat is Lauren Fuller, our Bradenton Financial Center Manager. Lauren has been a passionate supporter of Habitat for over 10 years, serving in various roles, including her current position as a board assistant. From volunteering at build days to helping organize events, Lauren’s dedication is a wonderful example of how one person can make a big difference.

Lauren’s enthusiasm for Habitat’s mission is contagious. Whether she’s swinging a hammer or rallying others to join the cause, she embodies what it means to give back. Her efforts remind us all that community involvement is about heart and teamwork.

Supporting Habitat’s Mission

While our team’s hands-on involvement is a big part of our partnership with Habitat, we also provide financial support to help sustain their mission. Each year, we donate $3,000 to both the Manatee and South Sarasota branches of Habitat for Humanity. These funds go toward building homes, offering financial education, and supporting families as they take steps toward stability and independence.

We’re honored to play a small part in Habitat’s incredible work. Their mission aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re inspired by the difference they make every day.

Looking to the Future

This year, Habitat for Humanity of Manatee County is celebrating its 30th anniversary, a remarkable milestone! It’s an opportunity to reflect on how much has been accomplished and to dream about what’s next. Mark your calendar for February 8th and join Habitat for Humanity at their special 30th anniversary event—a celebration of community, inspiration, and the ongoing mission to help families find a place to call home.

At the end of the day, our collaboration with Habitat for Humanity is about more than homes; it’s about hope, connection, and building a stronger community together. Whether it’s through a donation, a day spent building, or cheering on a family as they get the keys to their new home, we’re grateful to be part of this journey—one brick at a time.
