The Plantation Community Foundation, Inc. (PCF) is a non-profit organization deeply rooted in the heart of South Sarasota County. Founded in 1988, the PCF has been a steadfast advocate for the community, providing essential support to numerous organizations that address a wide range of needs.

Born from a desire to create a stronger and more compassionate community, the PCF was established by a group of individuals who recognized the potential for positive change. This initiative, initially spearheaded by members of The Plantation Golf & Country Club, has since expanded its reach to benefit the entire South Sarasota County region.
The PCF’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for South Sarasota County residents by supporting organizations involved in critical areas such as:
Addressing hunger and malnutrition through food banks, meal programs, and other initiatives.
Providing assistance to individuals and families facing housing insecurity, including affordable housing programs and homelessness prevention.
Supporting healthcare access and affordability, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Investing in education and youth development programs to ensure future generations have the tools they need to succeed.
Protecting and preserving the natural environment through conservation and sustainability efforts.
Promoting arts, culture, and community engagement through various programs and events.
The PCF achieves its mission through a rigorous grantmaking process. Each year, the organization carefully evaluates grant applications from eligible non-profit organizations Successful applicants receive funding to support their vital work in the community.
